South Buffalo is a close knit community, with a rich history and a strong foundation. It has plenty of parks, and plenty of families to enjoy them. It has an industrial heritage and a working class pride. This is the community where I spent my teenage years, and ever since it has felt like home.

Alfred Friends Meeting recently approved establishing the Dansville Worship Group as a preparative meeting. When the group met for its first meeting for business on November 6, 2011, the first order of business was to choose a new name. Friends in Dansville wanted their name to relflect the large geographic area they serve. They approved the name "Genesee Valley Meeting, Religious Society of Friends" as their official name but will usually refer to the group as Genesee Valley Quaker Meeting.

The Healthcare minute passed by Buffalo Meeting and adopted by the Farmington-Scipio region, has found its way to New York Yearly Meeting. Many meetings throughout the state have considered the minute and some meetings, such as Brooklyn MM, have adapted the minute and approved it as their own.

At NYYM Fall Sessions Brooklyn's version of the minute was brought before the body, and adopted with some alterations. The final Minute is below.
